- I am the third George M Sutton to be in busines, a tradition since 1921. My grandfather purchased a sleepy little Ford Agency in Inglewood, California. As it turned out, Inglewood was America's fastest growing city during the first 5 years of the Roaring 20's!
My dad, who recently passed away, was born into the Ford business in 1924. We have a vast array of untold stories about the first two George M Suttons. In 1944, my dad went off to War and was involved in combat during the Battle of the Bulge. Unfortunately, he froze his hands and feet before it was all through...something that bothered him the rest of his life.
My life started in 1948 and I was born into the car business, too. I worked my way through Woodbury College, Los Angeles, and graduated with a Degree in Marketing. I spent 25 years in the Automobile business and was everything from a wash boy to a General Manager.
In 1996, while dad and I were riding bicycles through Eugene, Oregon, we stumbled onto what is now our business location, George M Sutton Rv. What we found was a corner lot suitable for retail sales. We had always dealt with cars and trucks, but going into Rvs seemed like a good idea. It wasn't long until we were off and running.
Today, George M Sutton Rv is one of Airstream's top retail and repair facilities in the world. We have won awards from Airstream three years in a row. Our commitment to them is such that we commonly stock 40 to 45 new Airstreams at any given time. Our website is www.suttonrv.com and I am constantly working to improve and keep it up to date.
I love my wife, my family, my country and my business. The Good Lord has blessed us beyond our wildest dreams. We enjoy our many travels and will include stories about them. Living where we do, we also enjoy the great outdoors. We ride Quads, like to fish, hike, and work on our nearby home.
Yes, I have lots to say and hope to pass it along in an enjoyable way.
